Reiki Healing and Candles

Reiki Healing and Candles
Reiki is an ancient healing practice that employs the use of universal energy to aid the mind, body, and spirit. Through the use of mantras, symbols, and hand gestures the Reiki practitioner is able to tap into this universal energy and send it to others. Those who study and practice Reiki find that the use of candles can greatly aid and even enhance a healing session.

Candles have been used in spiritual practices around the world and in several different disciplines. The power that the candle has cannot be ignored. Candles are mystical objects and when used in the right setting and with the right energy can dramatically affect healing sessions and other ritual practices. Reiki students are able to charge candles with the universal energy and can either use it during a session or give them to others to use later.

Reiki charged candles are a great benefit for those that are not trained in this art. In order to use the healing energy one has to be attuned to it by a Reiki master. While this energy is available to everyone only a few choose to study it. For those that do not have the time or inclination to train in the ways of Reiki, candles that are charged with the energy can be used with great effect. When burned these candles release the energy into the room.

Before you choose a candle to use in your Reiki practice take some time to find the one that best corresponds to your goals. Colors strongly influence our minds and since Reiki is about bringing mind, body, and spirit into attunement you want to choose a color that is not harsh or abrasive.

Reiki, Color, and Candles

Colors play an important role in our lives. Often times we fail to realize the role and impact that colors play in our day to day lives. Think for a moment the color red and the words and feelings you attribute to it. Now think about a soft blue. Which color is more positive?

By understanding just how color influences the mind can we better use candles in Reiki. When choosing a candle to infuse with energy take time to examine the goals you have for the session. When it comes to Reiki you will want colors that are soft. A red candle can have its benefits when infused properly but a candle of a softer hue will serve the healing purpose better.
Below are some colors and their characteristics:

Green: The color of the earth and nature this color brings peace and balance.
Blue: The color of water and sky this color brings soothing energy.
Purple: This color speaks to the spirit and is perfect for those who may find that they need to attune their soul.
White: As white contains all colors white candles are perfect for a variety of ailments and conditions.
Of course candles come in a wide array of colors and hues and while the color is important it is not half as important as the energy you put into it.

Scented candles can also be used just make sure that the aroma is not overpowering and is pleasant. You may want to employ aromatherapy as well but it is not necessary. Organic or beeswax candles are preferred but again not necessary.

Charging the Candle

Charging the candle works much in the same way as a Reiki session. You will want to follow all the steps and procedures you normally do before you perform a healing on a person. Just because the candle is an inanimate object does not mean that you should not pay just as much care as you do with a person. The reason is that the candle is going to become a vessel for the energy and will be used for healing purposes. If you do not put the proper attention and care into the Reiki session the energy is not going be as potent or effective as it usually is.

Candles can greatly enhance your Reiki practice. You can either gift them to friends or use them during healing sessions. When a Reiki infused candle is used you will be able to benefit from the energy and healing properties even if you do not practice this art.
